Today we celebrate the life and accomplishments of a great man, Martin Luther King, Jr. Although he didn’t have a long life, he had a life of great impact that lives on in the dreams of others.
He was a Baptist Preacher who had a dream. A dream that is one of the founding principals of our great United States. A dream that was God designed: All men are created equal. We are all made in the image of God. We all have great value, not based on what we’ve done but on who made us. We have purpose. We have a life to live out the best we can. Too often we measure our success on what we have accomplished, the rewards and bonuses we have received. But true success comes from being the best you can be.
Martin Luther King saw that America was not treating all men equal. He felt God’s call on his life to make a difference with his words and actions. 60 years after his assassination, we can still learn a lot about how to live our best life and encourage others to succeed from this man of integrity and courage. He said many inspiring things. Here are a few of his great quotes:
